Hey there! I'm Attila the founder of "Need a Talent" a small and bespoke hospitality recruitment consultancy, a one-man-band with a youthful spirit. A story that is still very much a work in progress. With my post, I want to share not just the challenges and triumphs of my journey so far, but also the ongoing hustle, the hurdles I am still jumping, the lessons learnt and the future adventures that lie ahead. With every word I write down, I hope to inspire others just starting on this exciting entrepreneurial path, while also finding clarity through the ongoing reflection of my own experiences.
Starting out on my own is like embarking on an uncharted road, where the path ahead is both exciting and uncertain. It's about creating a brand that's as unique as a fingerprint in a fiercely competitive world. It's about being the bridge that connects top-notch candidates with high-end hospitality positions. In this post, I'll share the lessons I've learned, the challenges I'm still facing, and the moments of pure inspiration that guide me as I continue to shape Need a Talent.
Lesson 1: Earning Street Cred in Style - A Work in Progress
Picture this: you're a small, fresh-faced consultancy trying to make waves in an industry dominated by giants. Clients and candidates often look for the big names, leaving you with a mission to earn credibility.

My journey to earn credibility is far from over. I'm continually refining the website, exploring how I can use social media to reach a wider audience while trying to build relationships with potential clients and candidates. I'm always on the lookout for new industry associations, collaborations with fellow agencies and recruiters just to put my name out there. My commitment to ethical recruitment practices is a journey in itself, one that involves ongoing learning and improvement.
Lesson 2: Taking on the Titans - A Continuing Battle
In a world where established agencies and niche specialists seem to rule the roost, I've found myself in a classic David-and-Goliath showdown.

I know that I'm the underdog, but I embrace my niche specialization and am committed to staying at the top of my game. My ongoing mission is to be the experts, the go-to "guy" in high-end hospitality and private household recruitment. Sometimes the temptation is high to entertain other business opportunities that may lead to quick wins but if I want to be the best at my niche, I have to stay focused and just keep plough on.
Lesson 3: Balancing the Books - A Never-Ending Tale
The startup journey isn't just sunshine and rainbows. Keeping the financial ship afloat is an ongoing challenge. It's about navigating through financially better and worse months, a rollercoaster of highs and lows. However, I've learned that judging my financial performance based on only a couple of months is like trying to predict the weather with just a few raindrops. It doesn't give the whole picture. When you start out on your own, you need to change your mindset. The feeling of knowing that there's no payment coming in at the beginning of the next month, unless you make it happen is both frightening and exhilarating at the same time.
Thankfully, it does show positive signs. As I progress through my financial journey, I continue to refine and update my business plan, keeping an eye on my financial projections and budgeting as I move forward.

I recognize that the road to financial stability is ongoing, with twists and turns. Some months might be financially brighter than others, but I'm playing the long game. Careful planning and strategic spending are my compass. I'm allocating my budget where it makes the most sense, investing in areas that bring the most value when it comes to building the brand and presence on the market. It's a step-by-step process, and with each thoughtful move, I'm building a financially secure brand that will pay back my efforts in due time. The key is patience, resilience, and a commitment to the journey ahead.
But it's not all about challenges and obstacles. My emphasis on personalization, the power of relationships, digital marketing, staying ahead of tech trends, and putting my candidates front and center have all been my secret sauce.
My journey is about building a brand that's not just a name but an ongoing experience. It's about innovation, persistence, and excellence in a world that's always on the move. And so, the journey continues. As I navigate the highs and lows of entrepreneurship and recruitment, shaping Need a Talent into a beacon of personalized service and innovation, I invite you to be a part of my ongoing story. The adventure is far from over, and I'll be back with an update as soon as I hit my next milestone.
Watch this space for more tales from the trenches of hospitality recruitment, where every challenge is a stepping stone and every success is a chapter in my evolving narrative. Until then, stay tuned for the next exciting chapter in the Need a Talent saga!
